Chris Bankoff has an extensive background in post-production Visual Effects. With nearly 20 years of experience, he brings gorgeous artistry and technology know-how to every project he touches. Chris is most at home supervising and supporting a team of artists in various disciplines to help bring each client’s vision to life. He is the winner of a Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) award for “Outstanding Compositing,” among other honors, including multiple Visual Effect Society (VES) nominations.
Staff for over ten years at Method Studios VFX; some of his project highlights include Justin Timberlake’s music video “Filthy,” The Battle of Envoy gaming campaign, “Tall Tales of Jamison,” Irish Whiskey, and the famous Kia dancing hamsters. In addition, he supervised teams for noteworthy product launches and associated keynote presentations. While Commercials were his primary focus, he supported teams working on the feature film side. He helped develop the digital prostatic look for Freddy Krueger on “Nightmare on Elm Street” as well as supervised 3D set extensions on “W.” He also provided workflow and creative support to many Marvel and DC films. Before joining Method in 2008, he worked at Reel FX and Sway Studios, where he honed his craft on animated feature films and commercial automotive work.
Recently at Sony Innovations Studios, he is leveraging his extensive post-production digital compositing experience and translating it to the in-camera LED compositing on the Virtual Production Volume. He works with the team to ensure the content makes it from on-location acquisition, through technical processing to reach The Volume at the highest quality possible. He provided project management and hands-on support with the installation and configuration of the video distribution and display infrastructure.
